The Quantumrun Foresight team is happy to announce the launch of the second new project type of 2023: the VUCA graph!
(In case you missed it, we also launched the SWOT project type last week.)
VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) analysis is a framework used to navigate the ever-changing, unpredictable world in which we live and work. A VUCA analysis is designed to illustrate the unpredictability of the future. In doing so, sectors of VUCA can enrich foresight and shape the behavior of individuals and organizations in strategic planning.
However, while traditional VUCA exercises are done manually—usually on a physical or digital whiteboard, and often in groups which can lead to certain types of bias—Quantumrun’s version of VUCA allows your team to:
- Source/integrate trend insights from our platform;
- Blind-vote each VUCA topic so that its graph position represents the team’s unbiased, collective perspective;
- Position each topic according to its average impact and likelihood scores as assigned by your team (e.g., instead of positioning a topic randomly inside a VUCA quadrant, as is common in whiteboard/paper exercises.)
Free VUCA Training
While the VUCA graph works similarly to the Strategy Planner, one key UI difference is that the graph starts empty and only populates AFTER your team scores the trend content in the left sidebar.
Also, when you open each insight or signal post, you will see four dropdowns to score instead of three—the fourth being the VUCA dropdown that will decide the location of the post on the VUCA graph.
If you or your team is interested in a free Zoom training session on the new VUCA and SWOT project types, please schedule a call using the link below:
