The main cause of warming since the mid-20th century is of human origin. Anthropogenic activities alter the Earth's energy balance (Deléage, 1991), leading to changes in energy flux or "radiative forcing", characterized by greenhouse gas emissions (Kandel, 2010; Tabeaud, 1998). These forcings stem from lifestyles (energy consumption, use of agricultural land and rare lands), demographics, and climate policies.
